ENDORSEMENT GALORE AS OGUN APC HOLDS GOVERNORSHIP CAMPAIGN RALLY IN SAGAMU, LABOUR, ACCORD PARTY MEMBERS DECAMP TO APC The go


Governorship campaign of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun State has received a major boost on Tuesday as the campaign train moved to the Sagamu local government area of the State for its governorship rally in the community.

At the campaign rally, which took place at the Akarigbo palace ground, party chieftains took turns to eulogise the quality virtues of the party’s candidate, while admonishing them to vote for him at the forthcoming governorship election in the State.  

Addressing party faithful at the rally, a former deputy governor of the state, Prince Segun Adesegun assured residents that the APC government under Prince Abiodun will be fair to all. He also charged them to ignore calls by certain elements who have left the party for them to divide their votes among APC and other political parties, stating that some political parties have expressed readiness to decamp to APC to support the emergence of Abiodun at the poll. He enjoined them to cast all their votes for the APC candidates at all levels.

Speaking in the same vein, another former deputy governor of Ogun State, Senator Gbenga Kaka enjoined Sagamu and Ogun state residents to give their total support to the APC, stating that the party guarantees the delivery of democracy dividends to residents of Ogun State.
The rally was later turned into a platform for the endorsement of the APC candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun by different political parties, traditional institutions as well as ethnic and trade groups.

Leader of the Ogun State Hausa political movement, Alh Garuba, who spoke on behalf of the state’s Hausa community also assured Prince Abiodun and all APC candidates of block votes from all northerners in the state. To demonstrate their support, the group presented a branded APC agbada and a gown to Prince Dapo Abiodun and his deputy, Engr Noimot Oyedele-Salako.  

Speaking on behalf of Sagamu Council of Baales, Chief Moshood Agbolade Dawodu, Baale Ajegunle-Ogijo assured Prince Abiodun of landslide victory across communities in the entire Sagamu, Remo and OPgun State in general. He added that, being a Remo sons, the Baale’s would mobilize their subjects to vote for the APC candidate.

Labour Party chairman in Sagamu local government, Hon Abiodun Otasanya also used the opportunity to formally announce his defection and that of  members of his party in Sagamu local government to the APC to ensure victory for the APC governorship candidate.
In his brief address at the rally, the man of the moment and APC governorship candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun assured party supporters and residents of an all-inclusive government, if elected into office in 2019.

He also cleared the air on the purported endorsement of President Muhammed Buhari by certain political party in the state, ‘don’t mind anybody that tells you Buhari is our candidate. They are people who want to reap where they did not sow. President Buhari is a member and presidential candidate of the APC. They only want to use the popularity and acceptance of the President and our party for their selfish interest’, he stressed.  

Abiodun also used the occasion to present the party’s candidates for the House of Representatives, Otunba Adewunmi Onanauga and the two house of assembly candidates in Sagamu Constituency 1 and 2, Hon Segun Shitta and Hon Sunday Olalekan Oyesanya.
The rally was witnessed by party chieftains cross Sagamu local government, led by a former commissioner for Health and leader of the Ijebu-Remo Agenda, Chief Tolu Dawodu.
