The national assembly election has just been concluded, with shocking results across the country. Many politicians once believed to be political heavyweights have fallen, they include the incumbent Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi among others. Here in Ogun State, none of the candidates of the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun’s APM won any seat at the Senate and House of Representatives. One of the main causality of this shocker is the incumbent majority leader of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Yinka Mafe, who came a dist ant third in the Remo federal constituency election. Others include Hon Mikky, Hon Segun Gbeleyi. WILD JUBILATION AS APC CANDIDATE, OTUNBA ADEWUNMI ONANUGA WINS REMO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY SEAT

The entire Remo federal constituency of Ogun State erupted in wild jubilation on Sunday 24th March as the electoral umpire, INEC declared candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC Otunba Adewumni Onanuga winner of the keenly contested House of Reps election for Remo federal seat. Otunba Onanuga polled a total of 30, 605 votes to beat her closest rival and candidate of the PDP who scored 29, 858 votes. APM candidate and incumbent majority leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Yinka Mafe came a distant third with 9, 780 votes. Prof Oladite Jimoh Alao, INEC returning officer for the House of Reps election declared Hon Adewunmi Onanuga, winner of the election amidst wild jubilation by her teeming supporters.
