PRESIDENTIAL / NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS: AKARIGBO OF REMO LAND, OBA ADEWALE AJAYI WARNS TROUBLE MAKERS TO STAY AWAY FROM HIS DOMAIN
Akarigbo of Remo Land, HRM, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi |
The
Akarigbo and
paramount ruler of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi has sent a strong
warning to perpetrators of electoral violence to stay away from his domain, as
Sagamu and Remo land in general will not condone any act of electoral violence
during tomorrow’s presidential and national assembly elections in the state.
Oba Ajayi gave the warning through a
public announcement, made via a motorcade that went round Sagamu town today, Friday 15th February to warn those
who are planning to cause trouble during the elections to desist or be handed
over to relevant security agencies.
The monarch’s warning may not be
unconnected with the violence that broke out in Abeokuta, the State capital last
week Monday at the presidential campaign rally of the ruling All Progressives
Congress, APC at Moshood Abiola stadium, Abeokuta.
It was alleged that angry supporters
of the State governor, Ibikunle Amosun pelted the president, Muhammed Buhari
and other leaders of the party with stones and sachet water when he introduced
Prince Dapo Abiodun as the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming March 2nd
election in the state.
Similarly, the police hierarchy has
deployed a deputy inspector general of police and three Commissioners of Police
to coordinate the security of the state during tomorrow’s presidential and
national assembly elections.
