AMOSUN’S THREAT TO WORKERS IS AN IRRESPONSIBLE STATEMENT, NLC PRESIDENT, COM AYUBA WABBA

President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabba has described a statement credited to Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State that he cannot guarantee the safety of NLC members on labour’s planned protest in the state as unfortunate and highly irresponsible.

Speaking to newsmen on the development, Wabba noted that it was important to remind the governor that he was elected into office by the same workers whose lives he is now threatening.

The labour leader however vowed that labour would not be deterred nor discouraged by Amosun’s threats to its lives and that of its members, promising that he and his men will rely on God Almighty and its members for protection during today’s protest in the State.

Labour is protesting the non-payment of 15 months workers salary, non-remittance of pension fund contributions and non-payment of workers cooperative deductions among many other anti-labour policy of the Ibikunle Amosun-led government of Ogun State.
