LIBERIAN PRESIDENT GEORGE WEAH CONGRATULATES DAPO ABIODUN

Liberian President, His Excellency, George Tawlon Manneh Oppong Ousman Weah, has congratulated Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun on his emergence as Ogun State Governor-Elect.
The felicitation came via a written personal message from the ex-soccer icon to Prince Abiodun.

In a press statement issued today in Abeokuta by his spokesperson, Remmy Hazzan, quoted President Weah to have attributed Abiodun’s victory to “his decision to volunteer his time, efforts and resources in pursuit of good cause.”

Widely regarded as one of the greatest African soccer players of all time, the 1995 FIFA World Player of the Year and three-time African Footballer of the Year, Weah, expressed great delight in Abiodun’s victory and wished him success in his new assignment.

Responding, the Governor-elect said “President Weah's goodwill message, alongside many others we have received from eminent personalities, within and outside Nigeria, including visitations by our co-contestants from other parties at the last elections, have further strengthened our resolve to meet the yearnings of the good people of Ogun State and the huge expectations of all and sundry. I am inspired to deliver focused, fair, just and equitable governance”.
