REMO INDIGENES IN PUBLIC SERVICE HOSTS GOV. DAPO ABIODUN TO A LAVISH RECEPTION
A group of Remo sons and daughters in Public Service have thrown a lavish reception for the Number One citizen of Ogun State and a Prince of Remo Land, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR the Executive Governor of Ogun State.
The special reception hosted under the auspices of Association of Remo Indigenes in Public Service, with the support of Remo Traditional Council was a historic and colourful event, as Remo sons and daughters in public service turned out, in their colourful Ankara 'aso-ebi', to celebrate and identify with one of their owns.
To demonstrate their support for the Special Reception, the Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi led a powerful delegation of Remo monarchs and traditional rulers to grace the colourful reception.
The event was also graced by the who-is-whos across Remo Land, both within and outside Ogun State who added colour and glamour to the reception with their physical presence.
Addressing hundreds of Remo sons and daughters at the event, Oba Babatunde Ajayi charged the civil servants to support the incumbent administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun and ensure he succeeds, noting that his administration being Remo's slot must not fail.
Oba Ajayi also charged the Remo-born public servants to provide credible information to him and other monarchs for onward transmission to the governor, whenever there is an opening, slot or opportunity for any Remo son or daughter in the Ogun State Civil Service.
The revered monarch also charged them to continue to hold the ace by working hard to keep the good name of Remo Land in their respective Ministries and Departments.
Speaking on the sideline of the occasion, Com. Olayinka Abdul, President, Association of Remo Indigenes in the Public Service, Ogun State Chapter, he described the event as historic and one of its kind in the history of Remo Land.
'He is worthy of celebration because, we all know the enormous challenges he went through before his emergence as the Executive Governor of Ogun State. Even if he is not a Governor today, he is still worthy of honour for his several entrepreneurship exploits. He is also a serial entrepreneur, with business interests, across various sectors. He is an illustrous son of Remo Land', he said.
Com. Abdul further expressed satisfaction at the massive turn out of Remo sons and daughters, including monarchs at the event. He also praised the douo of Asiwaju S.K Onafowokan and Olotu Omo'ba Michael Oyedele for their moral and financial support towards the success of the event.
Though, His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun, MFR was unavoidably absent at the special reception, owing to urgent State matters , he sent a powerful 3-man representatives who are also of Remo origin, led by Hon Odebiyi, Consultant on Political Matters, Omo'ba Abiola Ogundeko, Consultant on Tourism and Mrs Ronke Shoyombo, S.A Education.
