NEWLY APPOINTED SAGAMU LGA CARETAKER CHAIRMAN, HON GBENGA BANJO AKA BARUWA RESUMES OFFICE, UNVEILS 4-POINT AGENDA, PROMISES NEW DAWN FOR SAGAMU RESIDENTS


The newly appointed Chairman, Caretaker  Committee for Sagamu local government, Hon Gbenga Banjo, a.k.a Baruwa has unveiled his four (4) point development agenda for Sagamu local government area.

The Chairman has also pledged even development of the entire Sagamu local government wards, with a promise of a new dawn in the administration of the local government council. He disclosed that his administration led will focus on Four (4) critical stakeholders that includes People, Political Class, Civil servants and the Press.

Banjo made this disclosure when on his resumption of office at the Sagamu local government secretariat, along Bashorun Adebisi Adesdanya Road, Sagagmu while meeting with Council staffs and other political office holders on Monday, 21st January, 2020.

Banjo also used the occasion to appreciate the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for appointing him, despite initial opposition from some quarters, ‘Without much cogitation and hesitation permit me to extemporize myself by appreciating his Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun Mfr the Executive Governor of Ogun State for bestowing confidence in my capacity and trust in my tenacity by appointing me as the Chairman of  transition team that will pilot the affairs of Sagamu Local Government despite many voice of opposition, I say a very big thank you your Excellency’, he said.

He also applauded the support of his political leaders and party members towards his emergence as the Transition Committee Chairman, ‘Moreover, it will be highly ungrateful if I didn't make reference to our reliable, dependable, trusted, accessible and experience leaders and elders in Council led by Baba T. Olu Dawodu who stood by me, supported me and never stop believing in my capability to bring about the needed development in our historical city of Sagamu’, he said.

On welfare packages for the local government staff, Banjo who described the civil servants as the engine room for any government assured them of a very harmonious and amicable working atmosphere between the political class and career staffs.

He later listed areas of  priorities of his administration to include,  Education. Health And Environment, Works. (Construction, Facility And Project Management) Youth Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme, Welfare of Staff And Security of Life And Properties, Agriculture And Increase In Internally Generated Revenue among others.
