ONYABO LEADER, LANRE LABINJO, WIFE HONOUERD AS AKOGUN AND YEYE AKOGUN OF BATORO COMMUNITY, SAGAMU


Honour and recognition has come the way of prominent Ikorodu son and deputy leader of the Onyabo vigilante group, in person of Mr Lanre Labinjo who was recently honoured as the Akogun of Batoro Community,  Sagamu,  Ogun State.

The Akogun title, conferred on Labinjo, came as a reward for his selfless community service towards the promotion of peace and security across Ikorodu division.

Akogun Lanre Labinjo was accompanied to Batoro-Sagamu by prominent traditional title chiefs from Ikorodu, led by the Olumale of Ikorodu, Chief Osho, family, friends and some members of the Onyabo vigilante group.

He was ushered into Batoro kingdom with traditional oro music and entertainment
 who held the entire Batoro community spell bound for hours by their melodious traditional oro songs, for which the Lowa Ibu of Batoto, Oba Olugbenga Dosumu sprayed them some cash.

After series of traditional rites and blessings, Lanre Labinjo and his beautiful wife, Princess Bilikisu Morenikeji Labinjo, who incidentally is the first daughter of Oba Dosumu were later installed and presented with caps and other instruments of office as Akogun and Yeye Akogun of Batoro Community, Sagamu.

HISTORY AS AKARIGBO OF REMO LAND, OBA BABATUNDE ADEWALE AJAYI INSTALLS PRINCE DR OLUKOYA ADEDOYIN AS THE OTUNBA OLOORE OF ANOKO RULING HOUSE SAGAMU

History was recorded on Thursday, 21 st November, 2019 at the Ita Oba Akarigbo, Sagamu as the Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi installs Prince Dr Olukoya Adedoyin as the Otunba Oloore of Anoko ruling house of Sagamu. The historic event was witnessed by Princes and Princesses from the Anoko-Ogbonyari ruling house of Akarigbo Remo Land at home and in Diaspora who turned up in their large number to support and identify with the new Otunba Oloore. The event commenced as early as 8am in the morning with special prayers- iwure and rites at the Anoko ruling house palace. The procession later moved to the Otunba Mojo Palace, where all the Akarigbo Ruling Houses in Sagamu hold their regular meetings. The last Akarigbo to visit Ikorodu did so in 1939. It was a nostalgic moment for many sons and daughters of Ikorodu and Sagamu who witnessed the epoch-making royal visit, described by many as a re-enactment of history, considering the fact that the last Akarogbo of Remo Land, who paid such visit to Ikorodu was Oba Williams Adedoyin who visited the then Oloja of Ikorodu I939.
